Elzybells Thanks

I've been having lots of stamping fun this week, but none of it is stuff I can share just yet. Here is a quick thank-you note design that I made a couple weeks ago. I plan to make a set of these so that I have some all-occasion thank-you notes in my card stash. I used the A Muse Big Bl background stamp to make the grass - so easy!

Cars Birthday

Last weekend was my son's 4th birthday party. The theme was the movie Cars so I opted to use mostly stickers and (*gasp*) store bought invitations/thank-you notes. But of course, I couldn't let a party go by without stamping a few things! The A Muse Harlequin stamp came in handy to make checkered flags for the cupcake picks. I also used it to make little fabric flags on skewers which I put in a trophy (held in

place with Playdoh) to make a Piston Cup centerpiece for the table.

The flag fabric was an old sheet which I stamped with Versafine black ink and then trimmed with pinking shears. I used some Kids Choice Glue from Joann to glue the front/back of the flags together and to the skewers. That glue works so well for kids projects on paper, wood, and fabric. (The one from Joann comes in a bottle rather than a tube.)

My son was so funny with the trophy - he must have liked it since he walked around to show it to each person at the party!

Knight & Princess *Sneak Peek*!

I *think* this might be my favorite stamp in this new ElzybellsNA release! Soon after I saw them, I knew I just had to put them with the A Muse castle! I used Copic Spica glitter pen on the princess's dress and also the knight's sword and shield, but it is difficult to see in the photo. I wanted to make the princess's dress appear to have some texture such as brocade. So after several tests, I decided that using part of the Elzybells Falling Star stamp would do the trick. I thought this would make a fun card for a wedding!

Gone Fishing!

I just love the little Elzybells penguins - they are all so adorable! (Check out this post over on the EB blog to see more of them.) When I first saw this guy, I immediately thought of the "gone fishing" A Muse stamp and knew they would be a perfect pair!

New Year Calendar

You may remember this post where I shared my January design using the A Muse calendar. I got a Bind-it-all as an early Christmas present (sooo fun!), so I made two of these little flip calendars (one for my mom and one for me!). There is a string on the back that winds around the circle closure in the front - which is used to keep the calendar open to stand. Here are two more photos so you can see how it works:




As for the inside of the calendar.... I'll be sharing each month from the calendar throughout the year!

Sculpted Creatures

This is one of the animals from the book "Paper, Scissors, Sculpt!" by Ben A Gonzales. My mom got me the book for Christmas - it's so fun to try different types of paper craft art! I've done some quilling, origami, kirigami, and now this which is called gupit-gupit (meaning "cut-cut" in the Philippines). I have three more to share with ya (below). These have tons of potential to color, embellish, glitter, etc but I decided to keep them simple. The swan is my favorite:

Gingerbread House

Looks better than it tastes (IMHO) - lol! I'm not the best at piping icing, but it made for a fun family activity! Happy Holidays!

And a Partridge in a Pear Tree

Hee, hee - I bet you have the tune of "12 days of Christmas" in your head now don't ya? I made a set of these as a gift for my Dad a few months ago. I love the partridge in a pear tree stamp with soft peaceful colors, so I used A Muse notecards in Moss, Kiwi tinplate, Fairy Dust, and Jasmine along with white cardstock. The pears are colored yellow and then glittered so they *sparkle*.

Holiday Drinks

Just playing around with a few things here - the holiday drinks stamp and the tinplate background stamp. Then I also trimmed just two edges of a scallop square to give it a little different look.
