Patch ATC

Woohoo - two posts this week! Finished up an assignment last week, so I've had a little more time to make some things I can share with ya. These are for Tracy's ATC swap. This is my second ATC and since the first one was something "scoopy", I knew this one had to be Patch! The soccer ball is from the new soccer girl stamp and the grass was done by masking Patch and the ball and then stamping the skinny oval over them.

Pick of the Puppies!

Patch is back! My aunt, uncle, and cousins recently adopted a new pup, so I couldn't resist making a Patch card for them! And I just had to use this sentiment for Patch - it's *perfect*!

W is for Woof!

Patch and his pals!!! There's a new dog park near us with a great kids play area in one portion of the park. So one day while we were there, it occurred to me that it was the perfect setting to put all the A Muse dogs together! Can you believe, this is the first time I've used the new A Muse pup Sniffer!? Such a cutie and I *had* to give him a studded collar. And of course the doggie bag is sporting a stylish paper-pieced argyle and some bling. Poor Patch didn't get any bling, but he does have a shiny wet nose courtesy of my Sakura Glaze pen. The grass is Pebbles shimmer chalk and the clouds are chalk ink direct-to-paper. To make the clouds... just punch out some post-it note circles in a few different sizes and line them up so they overlap a bit. Tape them so they stay together and then use them as a mask!

Lucky Dog

Thought it'd be fun to make a St Patrick's Patch for ya! So here he is holding a four-leaf clover which is really a flower from the A Muse Simple Wishes clear set. A little masking makes it appear as though he is holding the clover in his mouth. Words are hand-lettered.

Puppy Love (sneak peek!)

Patch and his new sweetie... my valentine gift to you! Inspired by the SU "Loves Me" designer series paper in the Winter mini catalog. I've had the "puppy love" concept in mind for months and when I saw the new Doggie Bag stamp in the A Muse Spring 2007 release, I knew she would be a fun match for Patch. Since I don't have any of the Loves Me paper, I made my own version using the A Muse even dot bl and scallop line stamps.

Four Squares

Made this a while back... inspired by this card designed by the fabulous JulieHRR! When the card is closed, you see only the first two squares. The sentiment is the A Muse "Happy 4th" stamp and then I added "birthday" from the Simple Wishes clear set.

Just a Note

I found this notepaper holder at The Container Store (in the office section - near the file folders and acrylic desk accessories). It was around $8 and came with blank notepaper! Thought it would be cute to stamp it with Patch, but so many other images would cute too! This was inspired by the personalized notepaper box sets from Yours Truly Designs.

Where's Patch?

My son's birthday party this weekend is a tractor and farm theme so I thought the A Muse cow would make cute cupcake toppers. These are similar to what I did for Halloween, but this party will be friends who haven't seen them yet! Just for fun, I threw in one of Patch for you. Can you find him? A while back, I had the idea to make a "Where's Waldo" Patch card. Since I haven't created one yet, this comes close!

Merry Christmas Eve!

Inspired by A Charlie Brown Christmas, here is Patch as Snoopy proudly sitting on his house after winning first place (*wink*). Merry Christmas!

Patch in the Patch! (Take 2)

Decided to revise my "Patch in the Patch" card (see previous post) by changing the colors of the pumpkins. Orange is a color that "pops" and catches your eye. In the previous one, I used dark brown (fluid chalk) to stamp the pumpkins and then colored them with orange and a dark orange for depth. They really pop, so Patch gets a little lost because his color is lighter. In this version, I used a color that was a little less bold (burnt sienna) to stamp the pumpkins. Same orange marker, but then I used light grey to add depth and tone down the orange. Better, but because the pumpkins are orange, I think they are still contending a little with Patch for the front spot. What do you think - which one do you like better?

Patch in the Patch!

Patch by request! Remembered tonight that I still needed to put this idea to paper. Stamped Patch first, then masked him, then stamped a pumpkin one at-a-time masking the ones in front. With everything masked, I stamped the seaweed last for the corn (*grin*). Masking tip: I just remember "front first" - stamp the image I want in front first and then mask.

Lift-the-Flap

Inspired by lift-the-flap kids books. I dry embossed the door panels. The stairs are strips of cardstock cut at different lengths and then layered. I used the A Muse Snow Purse for the planters below the trees. Scribbled with a blue marker for a faux glare on the windows. Sharpie poster paint marker and Art Glitter for snow. When you open the door, you find.....

Patch! Here he is as Spot from the children's Spot books by Eric Hill. This side of the door was also dry embossed. Patch, etc are stamped on a piece of vanilla cardstock and then adhered to the front of the card over an extra half inch tab of cardstock on the door.

Blue's Clues

My hubby had a suggestion for Patch yesterday - a Blue's Clues card! *grin* I used my new Sharpie Poster Paint Extra Fine white marker for the dots around the plum circle. So far, I hafta say... that pen just rocks! (Thanks for the tips Julie!) I also have the Fine tip - both from joann.com.

Dog Waiter

Inspired by William Wegman's photographs of Weimaraners dressed as people. I want to say I've seen a TV ad with dressed up dogs too, but I can't remember what product it is for - LOL! I tried this with Patch colored similar to a Weimaraner and decided it looked best as black & white. The little bone is a dollar punch from Michael's.

More Patch!

This was inspired by this cute room in the Pottery Barn Kids catalog. I just love the way they did the red dogs as a border around the room. To make the dotted wavy line, I used wave scissors to cut out a template on a scrap of cardstock. Then used the template with a white Sakura Souffle pen to draw the dots.

Patch Present

This is for an upcoming birthday for a 2 year-old boy. I used masking and omitting to make it look like Patch is holding the tiny gift in his paws. Then used the thick end of a Prismacolor marker to color the grass. The sun is Fluid Chalk cateye direct-to-paper.

A bonus card for you today! Same layout, so why not post 'em together, right? This is a thank-you note for a friend based on Saturday's inspiration challenge on SCS.

Clifford

This is my *favorite* of my Patch children's book series cards. Patch masquerading as Clifford for Halloween! The scale of the parade kids worked perfectly to make Patch look huge! I used post-it notes to cover his spots prior to stamping (worked OK, but I'd stick with markers next time) and then colored everyone with Prismacolor pencils.

Harry the Dirty Dog

Here is the second in my children's book Patch series! This is based on the book Harry the Dirty Dog. The colors used in the book are similar to Fluid Chalk lime pastel and tangerine which I used here DTP and also with an aquapainter for the bird and flowers. I used the poppin' pastels technique to make Patch look dirty and for the little hole he dug for the scrub brush.
