Cutting Straight

Julie mentioned in a blog post a while back that she draws a pencil line on the back of the cardstock to help her make straight cuts with decorative scissors. Well, that was one of those "ah-ha" moments for me... "of course, now why didn't I think of that?"! So, while I was working on the card in my last post, I took a few photos for ya. In this case, I drew the pencil line on the back and then cut just above it so that I'd cut the pencil line off and then wouldn't have anything to erase! But you could also cut from the other side of the line and then erase. Here are two more photos to show ya what I mean. Just flip the scissors over depending on the side of the line and paper where you are cutting.

That is a great idea! In your picture on the right, I eyeball the space between the straight edge of the scissor and the edge of the card while I cut to keep it straight...
