Owl Box

More treats! This was inspired by the "clip-art craft" candy boxes in the latest Martha Stewart Living magazine. You'll need the template that is on page 68 in the magazine (or this one from her website). To make it fit an A Muse notecard, I reduced the magazine template to 87% (not sure if the online version is the same size). The final dimensions after assembling turn out to be about 2"x 2"x 1".

Good question Tami! Two tricks: stamp positioner and a little bit of omitting. The branch is stamped first. Then I ink up the owl - all but a little portion near his tail where the branch would go (cube size inks are great for this). Then I use a stamp positioner to stamp him perfectly on the branch where the little omitted area is - so it looks like his tail is hanging from behind the branch and his claws and wings are in front of the branch. HTH!
