Fly Me to the Moon

Inspired by "Fly me to the Moon" sung by Frank Sinatra and many other artists. The idea for this actually came to me one day when my son and I were playing at the park. The park has a big play structure that looks sorta like a fire truck. My son and I were sitting in the seat area while a little girl pretended to "drive" the truck for us. When I asked her where she was going to drive us, she said "to the moon!" *love it*

Sweet Pea

Another baby card for a friend and it also fits the A-MUSE-A-PALOOZA ribbon challenge! I bought a huge pack of My Mind's Eye patterned paper from Costco, so I thought I'd finally use some of it - LOL! I have a couple other designs that I made with paper from the pack, so I'll have to upload those soon too. I don't use scrapbooking paper that frequently in my card designs, but I do like it especially for name frames. Seems like I usually end up searching stores for just the right pattern when I have a name frame to make, so hopefully I will have just what I need now for the next one. The A Muse Pea Pod and Sweet Pea stamps are some of my favs since they were the *first* A Muse stamps that I bought maybe five years ago!

Circle punch info

Hey all, just sharing some info... I picked up an EK Success "Whale of a Punch" circle today. The box just says "up to 2 inch size". So I measured it and thought you'd like to know the dimensions - it is about 1.75" - so it works well if you wanted to layer with your 1.5" or 2" punches. Hope you are having a great day!

Ellie Shower!

For a friend's baby shower. The bedding they picked for the nursery is the cute Zanzibar collection from Babies R Us, so this card was inspired by one of the pillows! I love it when I have an item to use as inspiration - makes it so easy to pick colors! To make the border, I wrapped green thread across the scallops. The tuft of grass is just a small section of the A Muse grass stamp. Then I used a blue Stardust pen to make the little drops of water from Ellie's trunk.

Rainbow Fish

A sparkly fish for the A-MUSE-A-PALOOZA glitter challenge! Glitter is one of my favorite embellishments - just adds that little something special to a simple design. And when I saw Connie's cute fishy card, it reminded me that I hadn't yet had a chance to play with my new A Muse Animal Wishes clear set! The colors for this were inspired by the children's book "The Rainbow Fish" by Marcus Pfister. For the bowl, I used my CM circle cutter to make a 2 1/8" circle, trimmed off the top, and then used the SU Word Window punch for the base. The water line is just one squiggle from the A Muse Dotted Lines bl stamp. Then the sentiment normally says "have a FAN-tastic day" so I just omitted the "A" and hand-lettered an "I" (hee, hee I just *love* doing that!).

Z is for Zoo!

The Grand Finale in my alphabet series! *grin* I just love all the A Muse animals and it was so fun to put several of them together. The Martha Stewart Crafts Starburst punch was a birthday present (thanks Mom!) and I thought it would make the perfect sun! Hope you've enjoyed my alphabet series as much as I've enjoyed creating and sharing it with you!

Y is for Yo-Yo!

I came up with the yo-yo for my son's alphabet cards and thought it'd be fun to do a little more with the idea. To make the yo-yo, I punched two 1 1/2" cardstock circles and adhered a clear sticker to one of them. Then used my crop-a-dile to punch a 1/8" hole in the center for the brad. I adhered one circle to the card and then attached the second one over it with a dimensional. So when you look at it from the side - there are two sides with the string in the middle just like a real yo-yo!

X is for Xylophone

When I was thinking about words for letter "X", xylophone came to mind. I remembered my son's Little Tikes piano and thought it would make a cute card - similar in concept to my drum design. Instead of using quilling paper on the ends of the sticks, I thought beads might work. And I was happy to find that they fit perfectly on the toothpicks! Wouldn't this make a cute card for a music teacher?
